BROOKVILLE, N.Y. -- LIU Post put together a complete effort both offensively and defensively and came away with a dominating 17-5 victory against Chestnut Hill on Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers won the East Coast regular season by virtue of a 7-0 slate in conference play, while also improving to 11-2 on the season. Chestnut Hill finished with a 7-6 overall record and a 4-3 in conference play.

The Pioneers went up 5-0 in the first quarter as Connor Drost and Ryan Slane each accounted for two goals apiece and Matty Beccaris tallied one goal.

The Griffins got on the board at 4:47 as Michael Duddy scored unassisted, and both teams tallied a goal in the last minute of play to end the quarter with the Pioneers up 6-2.

The Pioneers began the second quarter with three consecutive goals as Drost, Joe Costello and Anthony Berardis registered markers. Shane Morlock scored a man-up goal for Chestnut Hill, making the score 9-3.

Two more scores -- by Beccaris and Billy Deignan at 3:15 and 3:00 -- put the Pioneers up 11-3 at halftime.

The Pioneers outscored the Griffins 3-1 in the third quarter as Chris Ruhlig, Beccaris and Drost accounted for the scoring.

Another 3-1 quarter in favor of the Pioneers capped the game and rounded out the final score.

Drost led the Pioneers with four goals, while Beccaris scored a hat trick and added one assist. Costello also tallied a hat trick and an assist, and Slane registered two goals and four assists.

Goalkeeper Tim Bradley made 12 saves in 54:34 minutes of action, and Adam Winne made three saves in the last 5:26.
