Denver rolls past Drexel

DI Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals: Denver handles Drexel

NEWARK, Del.-- Erik Adamson's six goals led fifth-seeded Denver to a 15-6 victory against Drexel on Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament.

The Pioneers (16-2) reached the national semifinals for the third time in four seasons. They will meet top-seeded and defending national champion Duke at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on Saturday.

Denver has won 13 games in a row.

The Pioneers trailed 3-2 early in the first quarter before they scored the last eight goals of the first half. Drexel was held scoreless for the entire second quarter and didn't score again until Ben McIntosh's goal with 6:12 left in the third to put a stop to Denver's 10-0 run.

Drexel (13-5) was playing in its first NCAA tournament. The Dragons made the quarterfinals with a 16-11 upset of fourth-seeded Penn a week ago.
