Rooney tallies 7 points, No. 20 Stony Brook wins

Stony Brook, N.Y. -- Mike Rooney tallied five of his game-high seven points in the second half as No. 20 Stony Brook beat Quinnipiac 17-9 on Tuesday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.

Rooney, who had a goal and an assist in the first half, became the fourth player in school history to record 200 career points.

It was a 6-6 game before Stony Brook reeled off four goals in a row to take command of the game.

Brody Eastwood tallied a season-high six goals for Stony Brook (8-2), which won its third consecutive game and seven of eight.

Alex Corpolongo posted his third hat trick of the season.

Matt Schultz finished with three assists.

Jay Lindsay was outstanding at the 'X', winning 18 of 24 draws and recording 13 ground balls.

Brian Feldman had five goals for Quinnipiac (2-7).
