WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Freshman Matt Robison was the unlikely hero Friday night as his overtime goal with 1:10 left lifted No. 19 Stony Brook to a 9-8 victory against Hartford.
Robison, a defensive midfielder, scored off a feed from Dylan Curry in transition to give the Seawolves their second consecutive overtime victory.
Stony Brook (12-4, 5-1 America East) didn't allow goal in the second half and outscored the Hawks 5-0 in the final 39:04 of the game.
Mike Rooney was outstanding again, tallying four goals and three assists. He scored or assisted on Stony Brook's first seven goals.
Ryan Bitzer scored the game-tying goal with 1:07 left in regulation.
Challen Rogers scored two goals and added an assist.
Kevin O'Shea had four goals for Hartford (7-7, 3-2).
