Maryland wins second straight top five matchup vs. Albany

Maryland became the third men's lacrosse program to win 800 games.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior Ben Chisolm scored two fourth quarter goals and Dan Morris made 12 key saves to lead the No. 3 Maryland men’s lacrosse team to a 12-11 win over No. 5 Albany Wednesday.

The victory marked Maryland’s 800th win as a varsity program, becoming the third team in NCAA Division I history to reach the milestone (Johns Hopkins, Syracuse).

With the game tied at 9-9 and less than 14 minutes to play, senior Matt Rambo broke the tie and Chisolm added his first of the game to give the Terps an 11-9 lead. After Albany scored to draw within one, Chisolm fired the eventual game-winner with 5:40 to play.

Chisolm, who totaled just three points in his first three seasons as a Terrapin, now has nine points on five goals and four assists as a senior.
