MANCHESTER, N.H. – Claire Petersen totaled four goals and eight assists as top-ranked Adelphi posted a 24-3 Northeast-10 victory against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field in the regular season finale for both schools.


The Panthers, defending NCAA Division II national champions, have now won 22 in a row dating back to last season and improved to 16-0 and 12-0 in the NE-10. The Penmen wrap up the regular season 9-7 and 7-5 in the league.

Despite the loss, SNHU has earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Tournament and will travel to third-seeded Stonehill College for a first-round contest on Wednesday. The Penmen will be making their sixth consecutive NE-10 tourney appearance. The Skyhawks defeated Southern New Hampshire 14-10 during the regular season.

Petersen, the Division II leader in points and assists, was one of seven Panthers to finish with multiple goals. Erica Devito recorded six goals and an assist for Adelphi, while Elizabeth Fey finished with four goals and an assist.

Jade Antonangeli finished with a goal and an assist for SNHU, while Justine Clark and Sara Halbich had the other Penmen tallies.

Adelphi scored the game’s first five goals before Antonangeli got the hosts on the board 6:23 into the contest. The Panthers extended their lead to 10-1 before Clark scored with 16:55 to go before intermission. Halbich’s goal with 10:15 left made it 12-3, but the Panthers scored five unanswered goals before halftime to make it 17-3 at the break. AU then scored seven times in the first 12 minutes of the second stanza to account for the final.

Frankie Caridi turned aside six shots while going the distance for in goal for the Panthers, while SNHU goalie Hannah Moriarty made seven saves. Adelphi outshot the Penmen 37-13.
