Durham named coach for first-year Thomas More program

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- Thomas More College president David A. Armstrong, J.D., and athletic director Terry Connor have named Jon Durham head women's lacrosse coach.

Thomas More announced on Aug. 26, 2013, that women's lacrosse would become the 19th varsity sport at the Crestview Hills campus. The Saints will play a varsity schedule during the 2014-15 academic year as members of the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference.

Durham comes to Thomas More from nearby high school Notre Dame Academy, where he was the assistant coach in 2013 and the head coach in '14. As the head coach in 2014, he attracted 12 new players, more than doubling the 10 returning players. As the head coach he installed a motion offense, which resulted in 25 percent of the goals in 2014 being assisted.

Durham is a 2001 graduate of Kentucky. While at UK, he was a four-year starter and three-year captain of the UK Lacrosse Club. He also served the UK Lacrosse Club as the vice president and a volunteer coach for one year.
