Senior attack Riann Daziel closed out her season with a fury for Mount Olive. The Trojans won their final two games by a combined score of 42-0 and Daziel led the way with 16 goals and three assists. She set the school record for goals (12) and total points (14) in a single game when she fired off 12 goals and two assists against Lees-McRae.
Her 12 goals gave Daziel 63 in Conference Carolina play, making her the conference leader for the season. Mount Olive heads into this weekendâs Conference Carolinas tournament as the No. 2 seed
Two Top 15 team square off in Lacrosse Game of the Week
The DII Womenâs Lacrosse game of the week pitted the South Atlantic Conference champions Queens University of Charlotte against the Conference Carolinas champion Limestone College. The No. 15 Royals would rise victorious over the No. 13 Limestone Saints in a 9-2 upset. It was their first victory over the CC power house since 2006.
The game was exciting from the onset as both teams played the first half to a 2-2 tie. Abigail Paulus would start the second half brigade as Kelly Dowd and Shannon Mansberger added two goals apiece as the Royals put up seven unanswered points. The Royals carry a nine-game winning streak into the SAC tournament as the No. 1 seed
