Top-ranked Brown cruises past Boston University in Arlene Gorton Bowl

  Brown has won five of the six events it has competed in this spring.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University's varsity eight won by nearly 14 seconds to highlight a clean sweep of five events for the No. 1 Bears against Boston University in the Arlene Gorton Bowl on the Seekonk River on Saturday.

The third varsity eight opened with a commanding victory in 6 minutes, 51.90 seconds, followed by a 7:25.50 by the varsity four 'B' for first place. The varsity four then crossed the finish in 7:16.10, the second varsity eight posted a 6:22.70 and the first varsity eight capped the day with a time of 6:07.30 ahead of the Terriers' 6:21.10.
