Slalom events postponed due to snow conditions

PARK CITY, Utah -- The NCAA Skiing Championship slalom races have been postponed until Saturday due to course conditions. The men’s slalom is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET with the women’s race at noon, at Park City Mountain Resort. Second runs begin at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

“Unfortunately we had to cancel the race because of the snow conditions,” Utah alpine head coach Jaka Korencan said. “The rain and the warm temperatures contributed to an unsafe race course. The forecast for [Friday night] is cold, so we’re hoping to get a freeze so that we have a fair and safe surface [Saturday].”

The nordic races will continue to be held at Soldier Hollow on Saturday, starting at 11:30 a.m. ET with the men’s 20K, followed by the women’s 15K at 1 p.m.
