The Geneseo mens soccer team beat Wheaton of Massachusetts to move on in the NCAA sectionals today at MacAllaster Field 1-0. With the win, Geneseo moves to 16-4-2 on the year; Wheaton falls to 17-4-2.

The only goal of the game came in the 21st minute when Eric Lauricella created his own opportunity and pounded the ball into the upper right corner of the net for the game winner.

In a very physical game, Geneseo collected 27 fouls, and Wheaton added 19. Wheaton took 4 more total shots (15 to Geneseos 11) and had more corner chances (8 total to the Blue Knights 2).

Geneseos Chris Stock made 5 saves in the net and earned the win. Matt Pachniuk picked up the loss and collected 3 total saves.

Geneseo will play Williams tomorrow at 1:00 pm at Sandy MacAllaster field in Canton, NY to determine who will move on to the final four in Greensboro, NC.
