MAKING HISTORY: New York University continues to make program history as the Violets have climbed up the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas poll for the third straight week. Three weeks ago, No. 8 NYU earned its first Division III national ranking since becoming a member in 1982.

The Violets have blanked six straight foes after posting a 5-0 win against City College of New York on Sept. 28. NYU also extended its shutout streak to 557:63 and improved its unbeaten streak to eight games.

NYU's only loss of the year was a season-opening setback to Richard Stockton in overtime.

MILESTONES: Despite a 2-1 loss to Montclair State on Sept. 28, senior forward Chris Rosenthal had his name etched in the New Jersey City University record books.

Rosenthal, the reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week, scored a first-half goal for the Gothic Knights, setting a new school record with 88 points. The native of Kearny, N.J., also tied NJCU's career mark for goals with 37 - a record that has stood since 1971.

Senior midfielder Johan Gonzalez assisted on Rosenthal's goal, improving his own all-time record to 27 assists.

STILL PERFECT: Second-ranked Salisbury University posted a 2-1 win against St. Mary's College on Sept. 28 as the Sea Gulls improved its perfect record to 9-0-0.

The Sea Gulls are also undefeated in Capital Athletic Conference action at 4-0-0.

No. 9 Emory has posted five straight shutouts, and allowed a goal in just one game this season as sophomore Keith Meehan and senior Rohit Agarwal have rotated starting in the net.
