Creighton 2, Duke 1

Durham, N.C. - No. 11 Creighton scored two goals in the second half to upset No. 4 Duke, 2-1, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Tuesday night at Koskinen Stadium.

Matt Wieland led the Bluejays back from a 1-0 halftime defecit with a goal and an assist. He tied the game in the 65th minute when he scored his sixth goal of the season. Wieland fired a shot from 25 yards out that sailed in to the bottom of the net to knot the score at 1-1. Two minutes later Wieland found Jarod Tarver open on the right side of the goal for his fifth tally of the year, giving Creighton the lead for good.

Spencer Wadsworth scored Duke's goal in the first half. At the 14:59 mark, Michael Videira sent a ball deep and Wadsworth beat the defense to the ball for a one-on-one opportunity with Jays' goalkeeper Matt Allen. Wadsworth sent the ball past Allen for his seventh goal of the season.

Allen finished the game with four saves while Justin Papadakis made two saves in goal for the Blue Devils. Duke held a 9-4 advantage in total shots in the first half, but Creighton took over the second half with 11 shots to Duke's seven.

Duke ends the season with a 12-5-3 record. They earned their second ACC Tournament Championship with a 5-4 victory in penalty kicks against North Carolina.

Creighton will advance to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament and will face Penn State who defeated Seton Hall, 1-0.
