San Antonio, TX - The top-ranked Trinity Tigers men's soccer team scored a season-high in goals with a 12-0 shutout over Sewanee: University of the South Friday night in a conference game at the Trinity Soccer Field.

Trinity, which won its seventh straight game, now stands at 15-2-0 on the season. The defending conference champion Tigers are undefeated in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with an 8-0-0 record.

Tiger first-year forward Brian Hines recorded a hat trick, with three goals in the second half. Junior midfielder Zach Garcia scored two first-half goals, within six minutes of each other. Junior forward Peter Philpott also fired in two goals for Trinity.

Senior midfielder Tommy Barros scored the first goal of the contest, the eventual game-winner. Also on the scoring list were junior midfielder Josh Adams, senior defender Tyler Czinege, junior defender David Steuber, and first-year midfielder Darren McAfee.

Sophomore midfielder Nina Naderi led in assists, with two. Barros, Philpott, senior midfielder Clay Middleton, sophomore midfielder Aaron Olson, sophomore forward Alan Castillejos, junior midfielder Jordan Wade, and junior midfielder Andrew Soares each accounted for one assist.

Senior goalkeeper Joe Benefield played the first half, where Trinity led 5-0, and made one save.

The Trinity Tigers dominated Sewanee in shots 31-5, and led 16-1 in shots on goal.
