Grand Rapids, Mich. - Ryan Roberts (Elmhurst, Ill.) sent the match into overtime with a goal in the 88th minute before senior Mike Kapusta (Bartlett, Ill.) notched the game-winner in the 105th minute to send the Stars past the Thomas More College Saints and into the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championships.

After a scoreless first half that saw the Stars outshot 11-4, the Saints took a 1-0 advantage in the 54th minute as junior midfielder Ricky Barria tallied his fifth goal of the season. Barria's goal was just the fifth goal all season against Dominican University's Maxwell Gutbrod (Slinger, Wis.) and just the seventh score against the Stars in their 21st game of the season.

Feeling the pressure, the Stars pushed forward putting their first shot on frame of the afternoon in the 74th minute. After two more saves by the Saints' Nathan Ducklo in the 77th and 84th minute, the Stars finally found the back of the net in the final 1:41 of regulation as Kapusta played a cross to Roberts who beat Ducklo for his 11th goal of the season.

After a scoreless first overtime period with both teams getting off one shot, Kapusta re-entered the match in the 105th minute after taking a seat on the Stars bench at the start of the second overtime and less the 55 seconds later logged the game-winner. Sophomore Andy Lynch (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) found his target Kyle Boekeloo (Woodridge, Ill.) on a throw into the box and Boekeloo flicked to towards the Saints' goal where Kapusta was able to finish the match with a header into the Saints' goal. The score was Kapusta's team-leading 14th of the season.

The Stars, now 19-1-1 on the season, will meet the winner of the Calvin College/Ohio Northern University match being played at Zuidema Field in Grand Rapids, Mich. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 PM ET kickoff on Saturday, November 13.
