No. 7 Calvin upset in opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- With contributions across the board -- and two second-half goals -- Rochester defeated No. 7 Calvin 3-1 in the season opener for both teams.
The Yellowjackets used goals from three different players to rally for the win. Josh Richards scored the equalizer for Rochester at 8:56, knocking the ball home from a yard off the line in a goalmouth scramble. Tom Sorrentino set up the two second half goals for the Yellowjackets.
Less than six minutes into the second half, Rochester earned a throw-in along the right sideline. Sorrentino threw it into the center of the box. Max Eberhardt flicked it into the middle and Max Fan headed it into the left corner of the goal at 50:23.
No. 9 Trinity 5, Schreiner 0
SAN ANTONIO -- No. 9 Trinity began its season with a 5-0 shutout against Schreiner on Thursday night.
Trinity was led by senior midfielder Josh Adams, who scored two first-half goals. Adams scored his goals in the 17th and 23rd minutes, and the Tigers led 3-0 at halftime.
Sophomore forward Brian Hines gave Trinity a 2-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the 19th minute.
Senior midfielder CH Farmer scored in the 49th minute, and was assisted by forward Cameron Hogsett. In the 59th minute, Hogsett wrapped up the game with a goal of his own.
