PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Senior defender Shawn Singh and sophomore forward Victor Chavez each had goals for the Bruins as No. 8 UCLA cruised past Stanford by a score of 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Bruins improved to 14-4-1 on the year with the win and are still undefeated in Pac-12 play at 9-0-0. Stanford fell to 5-10-2 and is now 2-6-1 in the conference. This was also the Bruins' first win in Palo Alto since 2005 and their first Bay Area sweep since 2004.

UCLA took an early lead in the 13th minute when Victor Chavez scored his second goal of the season off an assist from Chandler Hoffman. Chavez scored after receiving a through ball on the right side from Hoffman and putting it in the back of the net off of the first touch. Just one minute later, the Bruins caught a break and went up 2-0 when Stanford put in an own goal. Both sides would not score another goal for the rest of the half and UCLA went into the locker room up 2-0.

In the second half, defender Shawn Singh added another goal to UCLA's total in the 56th minute, when he took the ball from 30 yards out and bent it to the far post to score his first goal of the season. For the rest of the game, the Bruins managed to keep Stanford from getting any serious scoring chances and cruised to a 3-0 victory against the Cardinal.

Overall, UCLA outshot Stanford 12-8 in the match. UCLA's defense was also stout once again as they only allowed one shot on goal in the match.
