HOLLAND, Mich. -- Carthage (5-1-0) opened a two-game trip to Michigan on Friday with a 2-1 upset of No. 8 Hope (4-2). Carthage has now won three games in a row since losing to Kalamazoo on Sept. 1.

In the win against Hope, Carthage took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Frank Delgado scored an unassisted goal at 38:37. Hope then tied the game at 58:45 in the second period on a header by Grant Neal. Jason MullerĀ assisted on the play.

The Red Men won the game in the 88th minute when Petar Tijanic scored on an assisted from Drew Liogas. Carthage would go on to outshoot Hope 31-17. Goalkeeper Milan Tijanic collected a total of six saves.
