ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A goal by Heiko Eberhardt in the 84th minute gave Lynn a 2-1 victory against Rollins in the third round of the NCAA Division II Soccer Tournament on Thursday. Yannick Braeuer scored the game-tying goal with a minute to play in the first half. The Fighting Knights improved to 16-3-1 overall.

The Fighting Knights dominated from start to finish after surrendering their ninth goal of the season in the opening period. Luck would go in Lynn’s favor with 6:10 on the clock after Jack Winter fed Eberhardt the ball into the box. Eberhardt ran onto the pass and was tripped up, forcing a penalty kick.

Eberhardt stepped into the box and fired a shot into the net for his fourth goal of the season, sending Lynn to the NCAA quarterfinals for the sixth time in program history.

In the first half, a misplayed ball in the midfield allowed Rollins to send a pass inside the right side of the box. Grant Blackhurst juked a defender and ripped a shot, which deflected off the LU defense. Alex Bisbee was there for the rebound and knocked home the first goal.

Lynn continued to battle and broke through in the 44th minute. Johnny Mertl launched a shot from outside the box, which Tars keeper Keneil Baker stopped initially but two failed clearance attempts allowed Braeuer to sneak in and tip in the loose ball for the goal.

The Blue & White outshot Rollins 16-8 and held a 12-1 edge in corner kicks. Baker logged five saves on the night while Matt DiCerbo stopped three shots.
