Saints top Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- St. Lawrence earned a 3-0 victory against Vassar in a Liberty League contest on Friday. The Saints, who extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games, improve to 10-1-2 (5-0) and were led by junior assistant captain Mark Provost's two goals on the day.

Provost gave the Saints a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute when he received a long 20-yard pass from senior captain Andrew Bednarsky, and then put it past Vassar's goalkeeper Ryan Grimme. Sophomore back Dan Hunt would make it 2-0 in the 81st minute when he headed in a ball from Morgan Smith off a free kick.

Provost would cap the scoring in the 86th minute with his second of the game when he dribbled in front of a defender and hit a shot that beat the Brewers' goalkeeper.
