Xavier soccer player scores spectacular bicycle kick

If you ask Alex Ridsdale to attempt a bicycle kick, he might be the first to tell you it could take 1,000 tries and still might not happen.

Well, it took only one chance and 49 seconds for the Xavier forward to score this spectacular reverse bicycle kick in his team's 4-0 win over IPFW:

"It just popped up and I just went for it, and thank god it came off," Ridsdale said in his postgame interview. "Rarely do they just pop off like that, so I just tried to concentrate and make good contact – and it went in the back of the net."

Not only was the skill required to pull off the kick impressive, Ridsale also managed to send the spiraling shot over a 6-foot-7 keeper. It was well worthy of the No. 6 spot in SportsCenter's Top Ten on Tuesday night.
