Watch Seattle's OT game-winner to advance past UW

Thursday marked the opening of the Division I Men’s Soccer Championship and Seattle's Gabriel Ruiz put the exclamation point on an exciting first round of action.

With the Redhawks and in-state rival Washington knotted at two apiece in overtime, Ruiz scored the game-winning goal in the 98th minute to advance to the second round with a matchup against No. 5 Akron waiting on Sunday.

Ruiz, a freshman forward/midfielder, fired a shot from just inside the penalty box that curved to the right past the Huskies goalkeeper Saif Kerawala. The goal was Ruiz’s fourth of the season, and by far his biggest yet in his young career with the Redhawks.
