Simon Fraser posts shutout win

BURNABY, British Columbia -- Fourth-ranked Simon Fraser used three first-half goals to propel it to a convincing 7-0 victory against Northwest Nazarene on Thursday night at Terry Fox Field.

"Brilliant performance [Thursday night]," Simon Fraser head coach Alan Koch said. "I was very impressed with the tempo that we played at and we managed to keep that tempo going from start to finish. It was great to see so many players contribute."

Ryan Dhillon and Magnus Kristensen each had two goals in the match while Alex Rowley had two assists for the Clan.

It was Jovan Blagojevic who opened the scoring in the sixth minute when he turned a free kick by Robert Hyams into a goal.

A little more than 20 minutes later, Colin Jacques scored on a header off a corner kick from Rowley in the 27th minute to make it 2-0 for the Clan.

Dhillon wrapped up the first-half scoring when he scored a goal between the goalkeeper's legs in the 43rd minute.

Kristensen scored back-to-back goals to open the second-half scoring with goals in the 53rd and 56th minute, with Rowley getting his second assist of the night on the second goal.

In the 79th minute, Dhillon scored his second of the match before Gilbert Kyne wrapped up the match with a goal in the final minute.
