LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brandi Hamre netted the lone first-half goal and Megan Lindsay scored twice in the second half, leading fifth-ranked Seattle Pacific to a 4-0 victory against Grand Canyon in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The third-seeded Falcons (17-2) advance to a second-round meeting with host Cal State-Los Angeles (12-4-3).

Hamre scored the game's first goal 37 seconds after checking in. The senior forward entered at 26:29 with her team taking a throw-in at the GCU end. She received a short square pass from Kellie Zakrzewski and delivered a hard, low shot from 16 yards out that carried through the legs of GCU goalkeeper Stephanie Phillips at 27:06. That was the sixth goal of the season for Hamre and her fourth in the last six games.

SPU struck again 10 minutes into the second half when Kelsey Jenkins served a corner kick from into the box from the left side that Hamre flicked to junior Megan Lindsay near the goal. Lindsay pushed the ball into the Antelopes net at 60:21.

Lindsay would cap the scoring with 20 seconds left to play, converting a penalty kick for her team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Sophormore Zakrzewski scored her 10th goal of the season at 71:44. She dribbled 35 yards down the left flank before angling toward the goal and scoring on an eight-yard strike. Jenkins, the 2011 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, was credited with her second assist of the game on that goal. That increased her total to a team-high 11 assists.

SPU senior goalkeeper Brooke Yokers stopped eight shots, two of them with brilliant saves on dangerous Antelope chances. In the 18th minute, a header by Gabriella Zavala de Rojas was headed toward the upper right corner before Yokers dove and tipped the ball over the crossbar to keep the game scoreless. In the 56th minute, she dove to her left to deflect a low Jessica Brillantes shot away from the post.
