GOLDEN, Colo. -- Colorado Mines met Fort Lewis for the third time this season and for the final time came away victorious 1-0 in the third round of the NCAA tournament on Friday afternoon.

The lone goal of the day came early in the match in the seventh minute. Megan Woodworth chipped a ball into the box and Fort Lewis defender attempted to clear the ball but misplayed it. The ball dropped to Anna Evans who one-touched the ball far post for her 13th goal of the season.The assist was Woodworth's 14th on the year.

Mines pressed in search of a second goal in the second half recording seven shots compared to just one for the Skyhawks. Colorado Mines's best chance came off a corner kick in the 65th minute.

Woodworth played a perfect ball into the box and Erin Onat headed the ball at what looked to be a wide open goal but Fort Lewis goalkeeper Amanda Raso knocked it away. Kelsey Neal hit a shot low and hard off the save but it was blocked out of bounds.

Hayley Hollenga hit the post in the 75th minute while a ball nearly dropped in the box to the feet of a Fort Lewis attacker in the final seconds but goalkeeper Penny Rogers came off her line to collect the ball as time winded down.

The Orediggers will play host to the two-time defending National Champion, Grand Valley State on Sunday. The Lakers defeated Northern Kentucky 3-1 on Friday afternoon. This will be the third meeting all-time between the two schools. GVSU visited Golden in 2007 coming away with a 1-0 victory. The two teams met in the Elite Eight in 2009 and the Lakers won 3-0.
