DII Top 10 Preview

After stumbling to start the season, defending champion West Florida has worked its way back into the top three after a nine-game winning streak to end the season. The Argonauts are looking for their fifth GSC title in the past six years and their second in a row. Here is what the rest of the top 10 is up to on conference championship weekend:

No. 1 Grand Valley State

Fri., Nov. 8: vs. Ferris State (GLIAC semifinal)
*Sun., Nov. 10: GLIAC final
Grand Valley State has allowed one goal this season, which came in a 2-1 win against Michigan Tech.

No. 2 Colorado Mines

Fri., Nov. 8: vs. Regis (Colo.) (RMAC semifinal)
*Sun., Nov. 10: RMAC final
The Orediggers won their first RMAC regular-season championship this year.

No. 3 West Florida

Fri., Nov. 8: vs. TBA (GSC semifinal)
*Sun., Nov. 10: GSC final
West Florida, the defending national champion, finished the season on a nine-game winning streak, outscoring opponents 28-2 in that span.

No. 4 Saint Rose

The goal Saint Rose gave up in its 3-1 win vs. Stonehill on Oct. 26 was the first goal it had surrendered this season.

The Mavericks' loss to Winona State in their final regular season game snapped a 13-game unbeaten streak.

California (Pa.) owns one of the longest winning streaks in the nation coming into its conference semifinal at 16 games.

Quincy's 1-0 win against McKendree in the GLVC quarterfinals was its 14th shutout of the year.

Behind goalkeeper Sam Tabak, the Yellow Jackets are third in the nation in shutout percentage and fourth in goals-against average.
