Kujawa accounts for both goals as Rockhurst beats Truman in NCAA tourney

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Senior midfielder Katie Kujawa scored two goals to lead Rockhurst to a 2-0 victory against Truman in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday night.

The fifth-seeded Hawks (13-5-3) will meet top-seeded Grand Valley State at noon ET Sunday in a second-round game. Grand Valley State is ranked No. 1 in the nation with a 19-0-1 record.

Kujawa scored her first goal in the 43rd minute on a shot in front of the goal set up by a corner kick. Kujawa added an insurance goal -- her seventh of the season -- with a 35-yard shot over the keeper in the 80th minute.

Truman outshot Rockhurst 16-11. Kujawa led the Hawks with three shots. Kinsley Fitzpatrick, Brandi Van Booven and Kristin Wolff each posted an assist. Freshman keeper Ali Wallner collected eight saves.
