Puget Sound wins in 2OT again

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- For the second time in two days, Puget Sound won its NCAA tournament game in double overtime. A day after the Loggers bested Cal Lutheran, a goal by Amalia Acorda-Fey in the 102nd minute beat Hardin-Simmons 1-0 and put them in the round of 16.

Puget Sound got off eight shots, three of which were on goal. Loggers keeper Casey Thayer saved all six shots on goal she faced, and Hardin-Simmons totaled 14 shots.

The Loggers improve to 17-2-2 and will play against top-seed Washington (Mo.) in the round of 16. Hardin-Simmons' season ends at 16-2-1.
