Cal rolls

BERKELEY, Calif. -- Taylor Comeau logged a pair of goals in the second half for the first time in her career as No. 10 Cal closed out its non-conference slate with a 3-0 win against Pacific on Friday afternoon at Goldman Field. With the win, the Golden Bears improved to 8-1 with their fifth shutout of the year.

Samantha Witteman netted her third goal of the year in the 24th minute with a hard shot to the bottom right corner after a low, driven cross from Grace Leer. Pacific goalkeeoer Jacqueline Kane was able to get a hand on the ball, but it was not enough to stop the Bears from getting on the score sheet first.

Cal extended the lead to two in the 54th minute when Taylor Comeau slipped the ball right past Kane into the upper left corner after Witteman placed the ball right at her feet. In the 66th minute, Leer popped the ball into the box and found Witteman, who volleyed the ball to Comeau for another insurance goal as Cal closed out the contest, 3-0.
