NCAA women's soccer: Division I teams return to practice

The Division I Women's Soccer 2016 season is just weeks away and teams started returning to the pitch this week for the first set of fall practices.

Penn State will look to defend its 2015 crown after defeating Duke in a 1-0 thriller in the 2015 Women's College Cup championship.

Bowling Green's Lauren Ashman named chair of NCAA DI Women's Soccer Committee

Bowling Green State University Senior Associate Athletics Director Lauren Ashman has been named Chair of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee. Ashman, who has been a member of the committee for each of the last two years, will serve as committee chair for both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years.

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel has approved hydration breaks at a set time during each half of men’s and women’s soccer matches for the 2019-20 academic year.

Based on a recommendation from the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports, the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Soccer Rules Committee proposed hydration breaks at a set time during each half.
