BERKELEY, Calif. - After struggling offensively for the first two games of the series, No. 8 California finally broke through in the series finale. With the game tied 2-2, and the bases loaded with two outs, Jordan Wallace drew a walk to plate Ashley Decker and give the Bears a 3-2 victory against No. 4 Arizona State on Sunday afternoon at Levine-Fricke Field.

The game gives the Bears their first Pac-10 Conference win of the season and improves them to 22-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference while the Sun Devils drop to 35-3 and 2-1 in the Pac-10.

Sophomore pitcher Jolene Henderson picked up the complete-game win, striking out three while allowing five hits. Dallas Escobedo suffered the loss after relieving Mackenzie Popescue.

In the top of the second, the Sun Devils sent Kaylyn Castillo home when Talor Haro hit a chopper back to Henderson in the circle. ASU made it 2-0 in the third when second baseman Sam Parlich smashed a homer that bounced off the portable roof beyond the left-field wall.

Henderson got some run support in the bottom of the fifth, when Elia Reid sent the ball out of the park, hitting the stands in center field to get Cal on the board, cutting the deficit to 2-1. With two outs, runners on the corners and a 2-2 count, Frani Echavarria singled up the middle to plate Ashley Decker to knot the game at 2-2 and force ASU to make a pitching change.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Jordan Wallace waited out a walk to get the victory.
