HICKORY, N.C.  -- No. 9 Lenoir-Rhyne swept a doubleheader from Pfeiffer (2-4), 2-0 and 9-0 Monday afternoon at Bears Field. With the victory in the first game, Lenoir-Rhyne head Coach Shena Hollar notched her 500th win as Bear mentor.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior Dawon Millwood pitched a two-hit shutout while sophomore shortstop Jody Mizelle supplied the lone offense of the game with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to lift the Bears to the win.

Millwood improved to 5-1 on the season after striking out seven batters for her second shutout in 2012 while Mizelle's home run was her team-leading fifth of the year.
Pfeiffer lost despite a two-hit, 12-strikeout performance from Melanie Conklin, who fell to 1-2 on the year.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior second baseman Carlee Carpenter finished with five runs batted in and ended the game with a walk-off three-run homer in the second game as the Bears run-ruled the Lady Falcons in six innings to complete the doubleheader sweep.

The Bears also scored a pair of runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings started off by a two-run double from junior outfielder Kristin Lackey in the second frame.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior Lauren Harris (1-0) pitched the final four innings for her first win of the season while Pfeiffer's Shelby Brown fell to 1-2 with the loss.
