TAMPA, Fla. -- Stephanie Medina’s single in the eighth inning propelled No. 24 South Florida past Syracuse 2-1 on Sunday at the USF Softball Stadium.

With the Senior Day win, USF finishes the regular season with a 40-14 record and 18-3 mark in Big East play. Syracuse dropped to 20-26 and 8-11 in the Big East.

Lindsey Richardson got the start and struck out seven in 5.2 innings. Sam Greiner came in to pitch 2.1 innings of relief and pick up her fourth win of the year.

Kenshyra Jackson continued to stay hot at the plate and put the Bulls on the board early when she narrowly missed hitting her 11th home run of the year, instead settling for a double off the center-field fence to score Medina.

It would stay 1-0 until the sixth when Syracuse's Mary Dombroski doubled to left field to tie the game.

The Bulls wasted no time putting the game away in extras as Kourtney Salvarola singled for her second hit and was moved over to second by D’Anna Devine before Medina’s winning hit.
