ORLANDO, Fla. -- Central Florida head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie recorded her 700th-career victory in a 2-0 shutout of Florida Atlantic. The Knights saw junior Farrah Sullivan drive in three runs in the 4-0 win against Yale.
Coach Gillispie has a 701-521-3 overall mark in 23 seasons guiding UCF (13th), Texas Tech (4), Bradley (3) and Julliet (Ill.) Junior College (3). The Knights' leader started the program in 2002 and has amassed a 444-319-1 mark.
Coming off a school-record 16-strikeout performance in the circle vs. Bowling Green on March 9, junior Shelby Turnier tossed her second consecutive one-hit shutout against Florida Atlantic (18-12) to improve to 10-1 on the season. She fanned four in the contest that matched her career-best in hits allowed.
Earning a start after a strong relief outing against Southern Illinois, sophomore Jamie Ujvari notched her first win at UCF. The Pensacola native, who won 20 games a year ago at USC Upstate, fanned four in five frames before freshman Lena Springer came in to earn her first-career save with two punch outs in two frames of work.
