ALVA, Okla. -- Harding split with Northwestern Oklahoma in Great American Conference action on Saturday. The Lady Bisons lost the first game 6-4 in eight innings but rebounded to win the final game of the series 13-9 behind a season-high seven homeruns.
Courtney Derrick, the first batter of the second game, hit a homerun to right field to give Harding the lead. The Lady Bisons led the rest of the way as they scored in every inning and hit a season-high seven homeruns. Harding scored three in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Amanda Berdon hit two homeruns for Harding. It was her first career multi-homer game and her fifth this season. Kinsey Beck (2), Carolyn Clayton (3), Kimmy Hendricks (4) and Courtney Chambers all had homeruns. It was Chambers' first collegiate homerun.
The Lady Bisons had 13 total hits. It was Harding's 15th game this season with 10 or more hits.
Shelby Anderson led Northwestern Oklahoma with four hits and three RBI.
Amber Rollins (13-8) got the win for Harding. Rollins pitched 1.2 innings. She gave up three hits and had one strikeout.
