Timely, clutch offense lifts NC State past No. 8 Florida State

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State received a couple of timely hits in some big situations to earn a 9-4 statement win against No. 8 Florida State on Saturday afternoon at Dail Stadium. The win was the fourth against a top 25 opponent for the Wolfpack this season.

"I was really proud of the way we competed today," head coach Shawn Rychcik said. "We went up, we went down, but we fought back to win the game. We had a couple of huge at-bats in some big moments in the game by Meredith [Burroughs] and Renada [Davis] that resulted in home runs."

The Wolfpack improve to 22-15 overall and 7-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while the Seminoles suffer just their ninth loss of the season and second in league action to move to 33-9 and 13-2, respectively.
