Seeking a fourth consecutive sweep of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles, Wayne State will begin competition at the 2014 GLIAC Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day meet is being held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio and is hosted by Lake Erie College.
The Warriors have won eight of the past 11 GLIAC titles.
Last season, head coach Sean Peters' Warrior teams topped runner-up Grand Valley State, edging the Lakers by a 16-point margin. Grand Valley has finished second to the Warriors in the past three seasons on each side. Overall, WSU and GVSU have finished 1-2 on the men's side in every year since 2008.
In 2013, Wayne State also swept the GLIAC Swimmer of the Year awards. Piotr Jachowicz and Carol Azambuja were named GLIAC Men's & Women's Swimmer of the Year, respectively.
