Denison Athletics | March 1, 2014 Six women qualify for NCAA championship at diving regional Share GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Denison first-year Morgan Christman competed in her first NCAA Division III Regional diving competition on Saturday and placed 19th in the women's 1-meter board. Christman qualified for the regional after posting a qualifying score of 409.20 in a meet against Grove City on Jan. 18.On Saturday, Christman recorded an 11-dive score of 368.50. She posted two dives with scores of 40 points or more. Her first dive, a forward 2 somersault tuck with a 2.2 degree of difficulty netted her a score of 40.70. Her sixth dive was her best of the competition, earning a score of 43.70 after completing a back 1 somersault 1 ½ twist free.Macalester's Renee Jordan won the event with a score of 490.05. Six females qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship from the Granville Regional. They are: Jordan, Maria Zarka (Kenyon), Sara Axness (UW-Eau Claire), Sarah Sheridan (Hope), Christina Pekar (Lake Forest), and Sierra Becker (UW-Whitewater). The NCAA will announce the official list of NCAA qualifiers from all four regional sites on Monday.
