ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.-The #4 Armstrong Atlantic men's tennis team held off #21 UC-San Diego in quarterfinal action at the Division II National Championships. Behind 2-1 after doubles competition, the Pirates (22-6) fought their way back against the Tritons (16-7) on the singles courts to stretch their winning streak to a school-record 12-straight matches.

Notching the first point for UC-San Diego, Erik Oijala and Blake Meister put together an 8-4 victory over Taavo Roos and Jeremy Mastnak at the third position. Tying the match for Armstrong Atlantic at the top spot, the 8th-ranked duo of Robert Jendelund and Dale White fought off 11th-ranked Brent Molden and Seth Spector by the score of 8-5. Taking back the lead for the Tritons, Bryan Swatt and Will Phan defeated Peter Dedik and Davor Zink by the score of 8-6 at the second position.

Down 1-2 heading into action on the singles courts, the Pirates picked up two quick points at the fifth and sixth positions as Secker defeated Meister by the score of 6-2, 6-4 and Roos pushed past Phan by the score 6-1, 6-1 to take over the lead in the match. Knotted the score at three points apiece, the Tritons' got a win 7-5, 6-1 from 26th-ranked Swatt over 50th-ranked Jendelund. Fighting for the victory, Armstrong Atlantic put together two victories at the second and third spots as White defeated Molden 6-4, 6-2 and Dedik battled out a 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 win over Spector.
