UC Santa Cruz will advance to the final four at the 2005 NCAA Tennis Championships with a 4- 0 win over the Hornets of Kalamazoo College. This win marks the 17th time in the last 19 years that the Slugs have advanced to the final four. Kalamazoo is a traditional rival as the Hornets have won more NCAA team titles than any other school with seven titles followed by the Slugs with four team championships. Kevin Casey and Kellen Ali-Christy got the Slugs on the board first with an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 doubles. UCSC secured the point when Bryce Parmelly served it out with partner Andrew Cohen for an 8-5 victory at the No. 3 doubles. With the doubles point in hand the Slugs rolled through the singles. First off was Andrew Cohen at No. 4 singles who won 6-1,6-4. Kevin Casey was next off with a 6-2,6-1 win at No. 2. While defending Singles Champion Matt Seeberger clinched the match at No. 1 singles with a 6-2,6-2 win. The Slugs will face Emory tomorrow at 1pm
