Gustavus Adolphus defeated UW-Whitewater 5-0 in a second round match in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tennis tournament in St. Peter, Minnesota on Saturday.  Gustavus swept Whitewater earlier in the season 9-0.

The Warhawks were defeated at the three doubles positions to begin the match and then lost the one and six singles slots to end the competition.  Gustavus has the number one ranked singles player, John Kauss, according to ITA tennis central region rankings.  The Gusties also have the number one ranked doubles team of Kauss and Mike Burdakin.

The Warhawks finish the season with a 22-9 overall dual meet record and a 17-6 record against Division III opponents.  Tim Moller, Caiati and Mory each finished the season with over twenty wins as singles players.  The number one doubles tandem of Caiati and Lowe along with the number two doubles team of Palecek and Glinert both finish with over twenty wins.

The Warhawks have made it to the NCAA Division III tennis tournament for three consecutive seasons.  The 'Hawks will look to return in 2010 after the graduation of four seniors this year.
