ADA, Okla. -- No. 18 Cameron produced another 9-0 sweep in Satuday’s match against former conference rival East Central.

The Black and Gold took all three doubles matches, with the No. 1 and No. 2 pairings both winning 8-6 and the No. 3 duo taking hold of an 8-3 decision.

Thomas Peixoto took part in a thriller of a match seizing the 3-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory against ECU’s Stefan Stein.

Duje Janjic overcame Julian Caminos 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 2 slot, while Nicolai Ferrigno overwhelmed Marc Fillat 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3 position. Angelo Lencioni sealed a notable win at the No. 6 spot, beating Doyle Springett 6-4, 7-6(1).

Gonzalo Garzon and Jorge Gerosi also claimed wins at their positions, earning 6-4, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0 decisions.

Cameron head coach James Helvey said he was more than pleased with how his team performed.

“Our men played fantastic. I’m very proud of them and am looking forward to seeing what is still ahead for us,” he said.
