JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Third-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State knocked off No. 4 Concordia (NY) 9-0 Friday afternoon on the campus of Jacksonville University

The Pirates (10-0) downed their fourth ranked opponent of the dual match season, while the Clippers (3-4) lost their third match in four tries on their current Florida trip.

Armstrong got the match started with three doubles wins to take a 3-0 advantage. The duo of Eudaldo Bonet and Matus Mydla picked up an 8-2 victory against Andreas Lindell and David Tisserand at No. 3 doubles while Sven Lalic and Pedro Scocuglia claimed an 8-3 win against Geza Bazula and Daniele Piludu.

Armstrong's Mikk Irdoja and Georgi Rumenov earned the triumph at No. 1 doubles against Tomasz Olfans and Benas Majauskas after Majauskas had to retire with the Pirates leading 7-5.

The Pirates then won all six singles matches in straight sets from the Clippers. No. 9 Mydla began with a 6-2, 6-0 victory against No. 14 Mark Mozer at No. 4 singles, then Irdoja downed Tisserand, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3 singles. No. 23 Scocuglia defeated Richard Frey, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 6 singles before No. 39 Lalic followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win against No. 38-Olfans.

Rumenov bested Lindell 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, and No. 2 Bonet beat No. 4 Piludu 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2 singles to complete the sweep for the Pirates.
