MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- No. 4 Barry beat No. 6 Rollins 8-1 on Sunday at Buccaneer Tennis Center. It was the Bucs' second league win in a row as they improved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Sunshine State Conference.

"In our No. 1 and 6 singles matches, we jumped on them right away and didn't let them get into a rhythm," Barry assistant coach Thomas Hipp said. "Our doubles were reacting well, and not allowing them to return."

The Buccaneers swept the three doubles matches to take a comfortable lead in the match. Barry's second-ranked doubles team of Marco Mokrzycki and Fabian Groetsch defeated Will Kwok and Robin Marchione 8-3 at No. 1. Romain Costamagna and Ollie Lemaitre beat Jason Alabaster and Jacobo Herrero 8-2 at No. 2 pairs. Max Wimmer and Renato Lombardi took care of Adrian Di Felice and Cooper Maxwell 8-1.

"Fabian [Groetsch] is a great doubles player, and we connect every single team really good," Mokrzycki said. "We had great confidence on the court. We were able to capitalize on our break points so we won fairly easy."

Mokrzycki, ranked No. 7 in the country in singles, beat a tested Kwok at No. 1 singles 6-3, 7-5 for the Buccaneers' clinching fifth point. Groetsch, ranked 16th nationally, outlasted No. 36 Malte Christesen 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Wimmer beat Di Felice 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Costamagna beat Herrero 6-1, 1-6, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Lemaitre beat Alabaster 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) at No 6. Marchione outdueled Lombardi in the longest match of the day 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 13-11 at No. 3 singles.

"They're never easy to play," Mokrzycki said. "They're guys are always pumped to play us, and we're super happy that we could beat them."
