Lander cruises by Anderson (S.C.)

GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Lander swept all three doubles matches and took five of six singles in straight sets to defeat Anderson (S.C.) 8-1 on Monday afternoon in a non-conference match at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander improves to 3-1 overall, while Anderson moves to 1-2.

In singles, No. 1 Lander's Vincent Verpeaux defeated Juan Carracedo 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 Lander's Ristomatti Lanne defeated Mateo Rivas 6-1, 6-4; No. 3 Anderson's Tomas Passalacqua defeated Samuel Poutignat 6-2, 7-5; No. 4 Lander's Niklas Terhorst defeated Paul Michael Calhoun 6-1, 6-2; No. 5 Lander's Marc Hofer defeated Inaki Iriberry 6-4, 6-1; and No. 6 Lander's Oscar Axelsson defeated Danilo Faria 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, No. 1 Adam Jonsson/Axelsson beat Rivas/Carracedo 8-4; No. 2 Verpeaux/Paulo Fernandes beat Calhoun/Faria 8-3; and No. 3 Terhorst/Poutignat beat Iriberry/Passalacqua 8-2.
