No. 12 Baylor posts 4-2 upset victory against No. 3 UCLA

LOS ANGELES -- Baylor (9-4) posted a 4-2 upset victory against third-ranked UCLA (11-2) Wednesday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Michel Dornbusch and Julian Lenz were the first doubles pairing to secure a victory for the Bears on court two with an 8-7(9) victory against Joseph Di Giulio and Clay Thompson. UCLA struck back with an 8-7(4) victory on court one to force the doubles point to be decided on court three where Diego Galeano and Tony Lupieri outlasted Gage Brymer and Mackenzie McDonald, 8-7(2), to give the Bears a 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.

No. 11 Karue Sell evened the match with a win against No. 104 Dornbusch on court five, 6-3, 6-4, before No. 31 Galeano got past the 36th-ranked McDonald 6-3, 6-4 to put the Bears ahead 2-1.

Lupieri put the Bears a point away from clinching the match with a 7-6(3), 6-2 victory on court six against Di Giulio. UCLA answered back with a 6-2, 7-5 win by No. 76 Brymer against Mate Zsiga.

BU clinched the match on court two with a 7-6(5), 6-4 upset win by No. 8 Julian Lenz against top-ranked Clay Thompson to give Baylor its first road win of the season.
