Hawaii Pacific gets third top-15 win in three days

WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Hawaii Pacific (15-0) kept the dream alive for a perfect season with an 8-1 win against yet another ranked opponent; this time it was No. 15 Rollins.

HPU completed the road trip sweep, going 8-0 while covering 9,948 miles round trip. The Sea Warriors are also now 9-0 in matches versus ranked opponents.

The Sea Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a sweep of doubles play. The first doubles team of Petr Michnev and Thibaud Berland dropped Rollings' fifth-ranked team by an 8-4 count. Second and third doubles was a little closer, but the teams of Jaume Martinez-Vich/Mattis Wetzel and Yann Renault/Adriano Locorotondo prevailed.

Singles play was also controlled by HPU. Martinez-Vich recorded an impressive 6-2, 6-2 win versus No. 23 Robin Marchione. Berland kept his hot road trip going by also defeating a ranked player (No. 34 Jason Alabaster) in straight sets. Wetzel and Clemens Graute each encountered little resistance in wins at fourth and fifth singles. Yann Renault had the closest match of the day, winning the first set in the tiebreaker and taking the second set 6-4.
