BLUEFIElD, W. Va. -- Bluefield State came out on top 5-0 of Shaw on Monday in Day 2 action of the 2014 NCAA DII Men's Tennis Atlantic 1 Regional.
The Big Blues came out strong winning all the doubles matches, having a 3-0 lead going into the individuals. In doubles, sophomore Jacob Carey and senior Piotr Kruk won 8-5, sophomore Aziz Yuldashev and junior Vishwesh Sinha won 8-4, and junior Connor Pickering and senior Vlad Catlan won 8-3.
Aziz Yuldashev finished first winning his match 6-1 and 6-1 to give the Big Blues a 4-0 lead. Then, Jacob Carey finished his match 6-2 and 6-2 for the Big Blues victory.
Head coach Louis Belt got his 100th win on the men's side for his career at BSC.
