SAVANNAH, Ga. The No. 2-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State women's tennis team earned its 11th consecutive trip to the Round of 16, knocking off GC&SU by a 6-0 score and capturing the 2005 NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Region title late Friday afternoon. The Lady Pirates, 26-0 on the season, now advance to the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Championships in Altamonte Springs, Fla., on May 11-14.

AASU swept all three doubles points from the Bobcats to take a 3-0 lead. Johanna Dahlback, celebrating her 20th birthday on Friday, then picked up a quick 6-0, 6-0 singles win over Chenelle Kruger at No. 3 singles to put the Pirates up 4-0. Dziyana Nazaruk and Caroline Grage each finished their match simultaneously, giving AASU the 6-0 win and keeping the Lady Pirates perfect on the season at 26-0.

The Lady Pirates will face the winner of Washburn/Nebraska-Omaha in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, May 11 at a time to be determined to open up action at the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Championships.
