Columbus, GA -- The University of North Florida women's tennis team took a 5-1 win over Clayton State here Friday in the opening match of the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Regional. The win advances the Ospreys to Saturday's championship match against the Columbus State - Erskine winner.

UNF took two of three doubles matches to start the match. Clayton State's Julia Gandia and Julia Chergova defeated Julie Stoppelli and Liliana Hung at the number one spot to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead, but the Ospreys prevailed at numbers two and three to gain control.

UNF then swept three singles matches, getting wins at number three, number five, and number six to close out the match.
